Advanced Issues in Terrorism CRIM 423 (3)

Builds upon and extends themes introduced in Criminology 413. Emphasis will be placed on understanding: the specific threat environment, emergent issues, and the dynamics of terrorism. These issues are addressed in the context of how they relate to, and can inform, professional approaches to security and the framing of state methods of preventing and responding to terrorism. Prerequisite: CRIM 413. Students with credit for CRIM 417 Special Topic: Current Issues in Criminology and Criminal Justice under the title Advanced Issues in Terrorism may not take this course for further credit.
