Arts and Social Sciences Post Baccalaureate Diploma

Bachelor's degree holders may complete a Post Baccalaureate Diploma. FASS offers a number of discipline specific PBDs.* In addition, students can complete a PBD with a concentration of courses in a discipline that does not offer a specific PBD.  The discipline options are: Anthropology; Asia Canada Studies; Cognitive Science; English; French; Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies; Hellenic Studies; History; International Studies; Labour Studies; Latin American Studies; Linguistics; Philosophy; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology; World Literature.

PBD in Criminology

PBD in Economics

PBD in First Nations Studies

PBD in French and Education

PBD in Gerontology

PBD in Humanities

PBD in Legal Studies

PBD in Police Studies

PBD in Social Policy Issues

Program Requirements

The program is comprised of 30 upper division units, of which at least 15 upper division units must be completed in the arts and social sciences discipline which most closely fits the learning goals of the student. For more information, please see .

Program 間眅埶AV and Declaration

Students must apply for admission to 間眅埶AV as a degree holder. Students with a first degree from 間眅埶AV must apply for readmission or reactivation. Once admitted, the initial program status will be "Non-degree seeking." Students wishing to apply for program approval and declaration in a Post Baccalaureate Diploma must contact the department advisor for the intended major and provide a copy of the first undergraduate degree transcript for assessment of prerequisites if applicable. The advisor and student will then complete a Program Approval form for the Post Baccalaureate Diploma outlining the specific program requirements. Please note that some program areas require completion of specific lower division required courses and 間眅埶AV CGPA prior to formal program approval.

Course Duplication

University regulations governing the duplication of courses are rigorously applied in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. No more than five course duplications will be allowed.
