Media, Sports and Popular Culture CMNS 324 (4)
An examination of the changing relationships between media, sport and popular culture in both a North American and a global context. Topics include the political economy of sports media, media sports production and ideology, sports in the digital economy, sports audiences and consumption, sporting mega events and global spectacle. Prerequisite: Two of CMNS 210, 220, 221, 223 (or 223W), or 240. Cannot be taken for further credit if student has taken CMNS 386 under same title.
