STT - War and Society HS 216 (3)
This course examines scholarly approaches to defining war, the role of violence in human nature, the evolution of warfare resulting from technological innovations and cultural change, and the complex relationships between war, culture, and society. Students read primary secondary sources and view a variety of visual representations of warfare. Prerequisite: One 100-level course.
