Interactive Arts and Technology One (IAT One) is the first year of your Bachelor's degree at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) - a school for students who are curious about design and technology and the roles they play in the everyday lives of people.

As part of the dynamic IAT One learning community, you will enjoy small classes, supportive study groups, the opportunity to develop real world skills on interdisciplinary project teams, and a commitment to your success. When you finish IAT One you will advance to second year in Interactive Arts and Technology.

Once you have started 間眅埶AV, to help get you started on the right path, attend weekly TechTeam and TechBytes sessions in your first Fall and Spring semesters. Your First Year Advisor, Paulina Lam, is an important resource to guide you through this process iat-one@sfu.ca.

We recommend that IAT One students take 4 core courses in the Fall semester and 3 core courses plus  in the Spring semester.  As a reminder the core courses are: IAT 100, 102, 103W, 106 & 167; CMPT 166; and Math 130 or MACM 101.  Below is a sample schedule showing different alternatives for your first year.

IAT 106 is already full so we recommend that students take IAT 100 in the Fall semester instead and take IAT 106 in the Spring 2015 semester. Both of these options are great choices for IAT One students and will set you up for an exciting and successful first year!
