Anthropology Extended Minor Program

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Calendar 2012 Spring

An extended minor consists of lower division requirements for a major and upper division requirements for a minor. Other criteria may be set by individual departments. A student’s program must be approved by the extended minor program advisor.

Program Requirements

Lower Division Requirements

Students should complete all lower division requirements before completing upper division courses.

Students complete a total of 20 units, including all of

  • SA 101-4 Introduction to Anthropology (A)
  • SA 150-4 Introduction to Sociology (S)
  • SA 201W-4 Anthropology and Contemporary Life (A)
  • SA 255-4 Introduction to Social Research (S or A)

and one additional 200 division course in anthropology and/or sociology.

Upper Division Requirements

Students complete a total of 15 units, including both of

  • SA 301-4 Contemporary Ethnography
  • SA 356W-4 Ethnography and Qualitative Methods

The remaining seven units must be chosen from upper division anthropology (A) courses (see ).
