REEL 66 COMMENTARY
1-6. Dancing to recorded music. On some there is active foot stomping by the dancers.
1. Opens with Serbian dance. Feet bouncing on the floor. Note the very quiet reverberant indoor ambience, when music is off.
2. Another dance, not much stomping.
*3. Another dance, good stomping, applause after dance.
4. Mainly the recorded music, little other noise except swishing feet and the odd voice.
5. Very Arabic sounding, foot shuffling audible.
*6. Some stomping here.
7. Beautiful solo/chorus singing of Yugoslavian Yicko Kolo dance. No dance movements audible except some stomping towards end of take.
8. More singing. Some banging and talking in the background.
9. Balkan style singing outdoors, beautiful. Traffic in background.
10. Fraser Street Bowling Alley. Rumbling balls, pinsetter noise and several voices in a dense texture. Very noisy.
2'40" laughter.
11. Applause, cash register, otherwise same as previous take.
3'30" exit to street.
3'40" very loud truck passing.
12. This sound is surprisingly violent within the very quiet indoor ambience.
0'40" snip of scissors.
13. Home sweet home ambience.
1'15" radio rhythm/work rhythm together.
