1. This is an old pool hall, dark, half-empty at the time. A clear ambient quality interrupted by the drone of the pop drink cooler. Occasional bursts of laughter, crashes of billiard balls, and traffic filtering up one floor from street level. When recordists enter pool games are in progress.
4'00" racking up balls.
4'15" old cash register.
4'35" loud strike.
4'55" groan.
6'00" remark.
8'00" groan ... whistling.
12'00" muffled voice exchange.
12'25" short whistle.
12'40" cash register.
13'00" making change at cash register.
14'40" voices.
16'05" laughter.
16'20" laughter with voices to 17'15" and laughter again.
20'40" pop drink cooler starts up, note slow build-up.
23'20" short whistle.
23'45" cash register.
24'30" loud cry, followed by remark about the "sound system"
29'15" recordists talking to someone briefly.
