COMMENTARY

2. Recorded from guest house window, 1/2 block away. Postman comes along and makes stupid remarks to the microphone in the middle of the sequence. Note also the clear, reverberant bird ambience (between cars passing) at beginning and end of this take. Every time the bell is struck by the clapper, the attack is followed by a rattle (as if the metal is shivering from the blow!). Some acoustic oddity? Or a mechanical error?

3-4. (It's almost as good as "Beyond the Fringe"!). A very expressively-spoken sermon, the congregation is extremely quiet, almost non-existent.
