COMMENTARY
1. Very quiet, relaxed between Renate and old woman (88 years old) punctuated by old clock ticking. Good take.
mark * (2); note echo of hammering.
2. Note long pause between ring.
3. Mic disturbances, 3 - 5 short takes.
6. Hummm is from electric blower.
8. Interesting rhythm of hammering: smith signals assistant with two taps whether to strike the iron or not. The two short taps from the smith also serve another purpose: they give him the necessary time to check that his work is correct; they also keep the beat and swing of his arm going. Note blacksmith's distinctly guttural voice. Note high-frequency spectrum changes in the hammering sound later in take: conversation with blacksmith, hammering of scythe blade.
