To help nursing and new parents balance learning and work environments and parenting responsibilities, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV provides dedicated spaces, resources and supports. 

Infant/Child feeding rooms

Our infant/child feeding rooms are private, comfortable spaces designed to support nursing and new parents who need a place to feed their child while on campus. Please see the detailed list of locations below:

  • Burnaby Campus
    • SFSS Women’s Centre:  Student Union Building, Level 2, Room 2220 
    • ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Childcare Society: located in building north of Dining Commons
    • AQ3000 level (expected opening Fall 2025)
  • Vancouver Campus
    • Harbour Centre (HC2179: Contact Campus Safety at 778 782 5029 for access.)
  • Surrey Campus          
    • Coming in 2026

Amenities

Each infant/child feeding room is equipped with comfortable armchairs, table, sink, a changing table and electrical outlets. 

Academic and workplace accommodations 

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV has a legal duty to accommodate the needs of faculty and staff after childbirth or adoption. Academic and workplace accommodations are available to help students, faculty and staff maintain their productivity and reduce the time they need to take off to attend to their infant/child’s feeding needs.
