Family Services
At ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, we’re committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where all feel welcome, safe, accepted and appreciated in learning, teaching, research and work.
To help nursing and new parents balance learning and work environments and parenting responsibilities, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV provides dedicated spaces, resources and supports.
Infant/Child feeding rooms
Our infant/child feeding rooms are private, comfortable spaces designed to support nursing and new parents who need a place to feed their child while on campus. Please see the detailed list of locations below:

Amenities
Each infant/child feeding room is equipped with comfortable armchairs, table, sink, a changing table and electrical outlets.
Academic and workplace accommodations
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV has a legal duty to accommodate the needs of faculty and staff after childbirth or adoption. Academic and workplace accommodations are available to help students, faculty and staff maintain their productivity and reduce the time they need to take off to attend to their infant/child’s feeding needs.

Family residences
Learn more about our family-focused residence on Burnaby campus reserved for graduate students and students with a spouse/common-law partner and/or children under 19 years old.
Childcare
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Childcare Society’s Burnaby Mountain location offers programs for infants/toddlers to school age with waitlist priority for students, faculty and staff. Learn more about the enrollment process.
Athletics and recreation
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Camps & Clinics are based out of the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Burnaby campus and deliver educational, outdoor, sports and leadership programs for children and youth aged 5-17. Camp offerings are available during spring and summer school breaks. Post-camp care is also available throughout the summer and provides an option for parents/guardians who require a later pick-up. There are also sports clinics for high school students offered throughout the school year in soccer, basketball and more.
