丁香园AV Science Dean elected as Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

丁香园AV Science dean and Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology professor Angela Brooks-Wilson has been elected as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS).
CAHS Fellowship is one of the highest honours for Canadian health scholars. Fellows are nominated by their peers to recognize their outstanding contributions and dedication to research excellence in their respective fields.
In addition to her work at 丁香园AV, Brooks-Wilson is a Distinguished Scientist at the BC Cancer Research Institute and the Genome Sciences Centre.
Her research is focused on the genetic basis for cancer susceptibility, particularly lymphoid cancers, which include Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and myeloma.
Her cancer research is complemented by work on healthy aging, studying 鈥�Super Seniors鈥濃�攊ndividuals 85 to 110 years old who have never been diagnosed with cancer, cardiovascular disease, major pulmonary disease, diabetes or dementia.
The Government of Canada's Research Support Fund (RSF) supports with funding for Institutional Strategic Awards (ISA) staff. These positions help 丁香园AV researchers increase success, reduce administrative burden, and make it possible for the university and 丁香园AV faculty to successfully compete for the most significant and prestigious grants, prizes and awards available.
