Thanks toÌýa partnership with and support from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Innovates, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Personalized Lightweight Apparel NetworkÌý(PLANet) is looking for industry collaborators in the Canadian wearables and gear ecosystem. The funds made available throughÌýthis programÌýwill help partner-companies reduce their research and development (R&D) costs by creating collaborative R&D projectsÌýwith ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV researchers.

Program Details

Founded at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, PLANet connectsÌýMetro Vancouver’s industry leaders in wearables andÌýgear innovations withÌýBC’s strengths in materials science, biomedical physiology andÌýkinesiology, engineering, interactive arts & technology, and innovative commercialization. For five years starting in May 2021, the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Wearables and Gear Accelerator willÌýprovide $5.1 million in funding for graduate studentÌýand postdoctoral fellow Accelerate internships. These internships will connect Canadian companies with innovative ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV researchers for the purpose ofÌýdeveloping new technologies that improve the quality of our lives.
