Biography
Lâl Basok (she/her) is a second-year Masters in Resource Management (MRM) student at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Lal’s research interest involves the intersections of ecology, equity, and tourism. In her Master's research, Lal focuses on studying how shark ecotourism can be conducted with sustainable and equitable management considering the growing industry and new and existing sites and operations. In her study, Lal reviewed literature sources and web pages to determine the currently active global shark ecotourism sites and attributes that enable shark ecotourism. Next, Lal studied these spatial, environmental, managerial attributes to recognize the common grounds and diversity that shark ecotourism operations suggest.
In her free time, you can find her reading or enjoying indoor cycling, yoga, and nature walks!
