Meet the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square Team: Termeh Moini
Gabrielle Parent
Communications Manager, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square
Meet Termeh Moini – one of the new co-op students joining our team! Termeh will be working with ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square and the B.C. Centre for Agritech Innovation as an events and communications assistant. She is a fourth-year Beedie student (¶¡ÏãÔ°AV School of Business) concentrating in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Her passion for project management and creating a positive impact on her community led Termeh to become deeply involved in the Beedie Community. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and spending time with loved ones. She is eager to contribute to impactful projects and to expand her skills in community engagement and project management. Termeh looks forward to learning from the talented individuals around her and applying these insights to make a lasting positive impact.
Gabrielle: What interested you about working with ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square and BCCAI?
Termeh: My desire to give back to my community and my passion for project management interested me to work with these teams! I am interested in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square's work to provide welcoming spaces for all to broaden their own interests and experiences, and BCCAI’s commitment to supporting B.C.’s agriculture sector through their training and upskilling program. I hope to further develop my communication and event planning skills and be part of offices celebrating diversity and innovation.
Can you tell me a bit more about your studies at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV? What has been an impactful moment in your academic journey so far?
Ever since I took my first business class in high school, I knew I had a passion for business management. This led me to pursue my BBA at the Beedie School of Business at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. I have been involved in the Business Administration Student Society (BASS) since my first year of university as a mentee, which allowed me to learn more about the school and the countless opportunities offered. This past year, I had the privilege of serving as the Vice President of Operations at BASS, where I planned and executed the organizations main pillar events. Within this role, I left a strong impact on the student body and further developed my interest in project management.
What is something you are passionate about?
I am passionate about giving back to my community. This value of mine has influenced all aspects of my life – from my interests, hobbies, to extracurricular work. In secondary school, I was the President of the Tri-Cities Interact Club where my team members and I raised funds to donate to various projects in our community and internationally. One of my favourite projects that we worked on was donating water tanks to two elementary schools in Kenya to further support their student’s education.
We're excited to have you on the team and bring your skills to the office! What are you looking forward to working on?
Thanks so much! I am super excited to work collaboratively with team members to plan and execute meaningful projects that bring community members together. I am also eager to foster further relations with different partners to provide innovative programming to ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
What is the last book that you read and enjoyed?
I would have to say the last book that I enjoyed is the second book from the Magnolia Parks series titled Daisy Haites, written by Jessa Hastings. I love the series as it reminds me of the TV show Gossip Girl, which has been a favourite of mine for years. However, this book does take a different approach as it’s set in London instead of New York. I enjoyed this book, even more than the first book in the series, as I related to some of the main characters more and listened to the audiobook version on Spotify, which made it that much more entertaining and enjoyable!
Please join us in welcoming Termeh to the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Public Square team!
