From June 3 to 6, delegates from around the world will converge on Vancouver as part of the  â€“ the world’s largest gathering on gender equality and the health, rights and wellbeing of women and girls.

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is pleased to be a WD2019 mobilizer and to welcome thought leaders, activists and influencers from around the globe.  In addition to participating in the conference, the University will host a dialogue booth at , an opportunity for delegates to engage with each other and with Vancouver.

As an institution committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV views the empowerment of women and girls as a priority.  The University in recent years has taken important steps to increase the repres-archiveentation of women in leadership roles, and to empower women through initiatives like Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Gender Gap Tracker and the Emerging Thought Leaders Program. In addition, our faculty, staff and students have demonstrated leadership in championing gender equality and women’s rights at home and abroad.

In conjunction with WD2019, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV on June 2^nd will present a day of multi-panel sessions and interactive art displays on gender-responsive health systems and services at the Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue. If you are interested, and to register .  

These will include a panel discussion involving ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Angela Kaida, Canada Research Chair in Global Perspectives in HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health, on the impacts of the criminalization of HIV non-disclosure on the lives, relationships, health and wellbeing of women living with HIV in Canada.

As well, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Political Science Professor S. Laurel Weldon will be particpating in a panel entitled 'Women's Leadership: Creating Change with Activism' featuring Julia Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia, and other women leaders. .
