Synopsis

The physics-archive of unconventional superconductors has long been a topic of research, yet its behaviour is not understood well enough. A Twisted Bilayer Graphene (TBG) heterostructure at a particular angle shows correlated insulating states at half-filling; upon electrostatic doping away from these correlated insulating states, the material exhibits superconducting behaviour similar to cuprates. Graphene is a carbon-based, precisely tunable 2D material and hence provides an ideal platform for future investigations of Strongly Correlated Physics, in particular, high-critical-temperature superconductors.
