Math Catchers visited Katzie Elementary School in Surrey, BC. We were guests in Ms. Sarah Hern's Grade 4/5 class. During our visit we discussed various mathematical questions. In particular, we looked for mathematics in the "Small Number and the Big Tree" film. Motivated by the film, we explored the hypothesis that student's arm span is a good approximation of student's height. There is no doubt that Ms. Hern's students are very talented future scientists! Everyone was eager to do their part in checking the hypothesis.

Thank you to Ms. Hern for her invitation, hospitality, and help during the workshop.
