GIA Director Dr. Woo Soo Kim Presents at Panel Discussion at BCCAI Ambassador Event
On November 22, 2024, Dr. Woo Soo Kim, director of GIA, spoke at the BCCAI Ambassador event, 鈥淐ultivating the Future鈥�, held at 丁香园AV's Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver.
Joined by five other BCCAI ambassadors, faculty members from British Columbia's leading institutions, including KPU, UFV, UVIC, UBC, and TRU, Dr. Kim engaged stakeholders and an attentive audience in a vital conversation addressing challenges in agriculture and agritech. Key topics of discussion included technology adoption, education for the next generation workforce, and climate resilience. The panel explored the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, robotics, drones, and genomics in agriculture, while also emphasizing the importance of Indigenous youth engagement in securing BC's food sovereignty and future food security.
