REVIEW: Jaleh Mansoor on Ursula Mayer: Not a Curse, Nor a Bargain, But a hymn

Jaleh Mansoor | October 1, 2014

Here's a PDF version of UBC Art History Assistant Professor Jaleh Mansoor's excellent review of Ursula Mayer: Not a curse, nor a bargain, but a hymn from this October's issue of Artforum. Mansoor provides a great descriptive overview of the exhibition and uses (perhaps introduces?) the provocative notion of New Economy Feminism to describe the particular configuration of capitalism, identity politics, feminism, the spectacle, fashion and the roots of neoconservative thought Ursula's work uniquely addresses.
