MFA Spring Show 2013
Syllogisms

March 28 – April 6, 2013
Audain Gallery, Vancouver

Syllogisms is an exhibition of works by students in the MFA program at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's School for the Contemporary Arts, comprised of an idiosyncratic display of visual art in the Audain Gallery, live performances and dance works. The syllogism, a formal system of logic used by Stoic philosophers dating back to Ancient Greece, is defined in contemporary terms as a particular kind of argument containing three categorical propositions: two of them premises, one a conclusion. For the context of this exhibition, Syllogisms, in plural form, designates an interdisciplinary and heterogeneous group of artists exploring a multitude of premises, mediums and meanings in the development of their practices.

Participating artists are: Alize Zorlutuna, Avery Nabata, Clint Sleeper, Corbin Murdoch, Deborah Edmeades, Didier Morelli, Gabriel Saloman, Huw Webb, Jeff Langille, Lara Amelie Abadir, Luciana D'Anunciação, Nathaniel Wong and Sydney Koke.

Presented by the School for the Contemporary Arts at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
