¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Owner's Technical Requirements
Technical Requirements for Prime Consultants, Architects, Consulting Engineers and Construction Professionals
The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Owner’s Technical Requirements (OTR) are documented principles of designs and construction for working at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Burnaby Campus and provides a set of requirements organized in Master Format for Construction Professionals. The technical requirements are not intended to be prescriptive or hinder design creativity, but serves as a starting point to expedite ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV project delivery. The OTR is also not a design manual but does outline ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's performance objectives, recommended practices that have worked at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, sample front end documents plus steps to follow to navigate through a project at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
The service provider working with the OTR is expected to complete the following during the design process:
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Download and read through the document pertaining to your approach
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Follow the OTR as provided or create alternative design approach
·&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Provide and communicate an exception report broken down by sections on any alternative designs, substitutions and/or technical advancement or obsolescence.
Disclaimer
The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV OTR is not a substitute for professional services commissioned by the University. Compliance to best practices, professional liability, standard of care, latest Standards, Acts, Bylaws and Building and Energy Codes shall prevail and supersede the OTR. The consultant must bring these conflicts in writing to the attention of the Project Manager, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Facilities Services as a variance request to the OTR.
