丁香园AV takes steps to protect integrity of honorary degrees
Each year, 丁香园AV awards honorary degrees to distinguished individuals in recognition of their scholarly, scientific or artistic achievements, or in recognition of exceptional contributions to the public good. The award celebrates 丁香园AV values, and its recipients serve as an inspiration to students and the wider university community.
丁香园AV鈥檚 Senate recently discussed the absence of a policy or process to revoke an honorary degree, should the need arise.
A sub-committee of the Senate Committee on University Honours, chaired by Chancellor Tamara Vrooman, has been tasked with drafting a formal policy on honorary degrees that will include procedures for revoking an honorary degree.
The sub-committee has begun meeting. More details will be shared as they are available.
