Support the search for ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s next provost and vice-president academic
What experience, leadership and personal qualities are important in selecting the next provost and vice-president academic?
No one knows ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV like its faculty, staff and students, so the university is hosting a virtual, all-campus forum on Nov. 9, 2022, to help answer that important question.
At the forum, members of the community will be asked to identify the required characteristics and experience to help shape the candidate description for this leadership position.
In recent months, the university began actively strengthening the provost model and ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s academic portfolio to provide strategic leadership on academic, financial, and operational matters at the university.
Reporting to the president and working closely with deans, vice-presidents, and vice-provosts, the provost will ensure that operational planning and budgeting is integrated across the university, aligns with the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s academic and strategic mission and institutional priorities.
As part of this expanded role, the provost will co-chair newly created Integrated Planning and Budget Planning committees and will oversee new senior roles within the VPA portfolio, including the deputy provost and a senior Indigenous leadership position.
This enhancement of the provost’s responsibilities ensures that financial and operational decisions are made through an academic lens and further centre the academic mission at the heart of all of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s education, research and community engagement.
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is accepting feedback on the position and candidate profile until noon on Nov. 22, 2022. Feedback can be provided at the , through a or through written feedback.
