Institutional announcements
New Director, Labour & Employee Relations
Christine Palak joins ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Labour Relations team as the incoming Director, Labour & Employee Relations, starting August 29, 2022. Christine was most recently a Strategic Business Partner in Human Resources, working closely with ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Beedie School of Business, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Learning, and the portfolio of the AVP, Learning and Teaching. Christine brings experience as a Human Resources and Labour Relations leader from both public and private sectors, complemented by a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Leadership.
As a lifelong learner, Christine stays current with industry best practices through her involvement with CPHR BC and Yukon, most recently finishing her term as Chair of the Fraser Valley Advisory Council, and is currently working towards her Canadian Certified Inclusion Practitioner designation. Christine is also Faculty at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where she teaches courses on Labour Relations, Human Resources, Team Dynamics and Organizational Development.
Christine is excited to begin her new role and is eager to build strong and collaborative relationships that will support the important work ahead. Christine will rely on her skills and experience to align the work of the Labour & Employee Relations team with existing and emerging University objectives.
