From Catherine Dauvergne and Wade Parkhouse | Next steps for our return to campus and links for tomorrow's townhall
This email is sent on behalf of Catherine Dauvergne, vice-president academic and provost, and Wade Parkhouse, vice-provost and associate vice-president, academic. It has been sent to all faculty and staff.
As vaccination rates climb in BC and the number of COVID cases fall, we are on track to move to Stage 3 of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Campus Recovery Plan by late June or early July while maintaining the health and safety of our community.
Many of us have been working remotely for more than a year, so our return is being carefully planned and will be gradual over the summer while increasing density on campus as we prepare for a full return to campus in fall. Many units have already started this work and should continue to transition their teams back while we are in Stage 2.
We will provide a further update in a couple of weeks but in the interim, there are several resources available to support this transition including the COVID-19 Resources section of the

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is hosting a townhall for faculty and staff to answer questions and solicit employee feedback to help guide the return for all faculty, staff and students. The ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Executive panel will be joined by Dr. Réka Gustafson, B.C.’s deputy health officer, who is among the province’s foremost public-health experts. Learn more .
You can participate in the townhall on Thurs., Jun. 10, 2021, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., in one of two ways:
- Zoom webinar. Attendance is capped at about 1,000 attendees. With this option, you can read and upvote questions posted by colleagues. You can access the webinar .
- If you can’t get into the Zoom meeting, you can watch the LiveStream .
