Dr. Roumi Ilieva and Camila Miranda presented preliminary data from the CRIE Reserarch Project: at the American Association for Applied Linguistics, in Portland, OR. The paper "Language Ideologies in an Anglophone University and Students’ Experiences of Internationalization" highlighted aspects of language ideologies operating at a mid-sized Canadian university that impact the academic experience of international students.. to access the presentation abstract.
CRIE at CBIE 50th Annual Conference
Dr. Kumari Beck and Chelsey Laird presented the paper "Facilitating internationalization for all: Faculty and staff in ‘third space’" at the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) conference on November 14, 2016 in Ottawa. This year's conference theme was Internationalization for All, and the CRIE presentation focused on faculty and staff efforts in facilitating internationalization. CRIE at Congress 2016
Dr Kumari Beck, Dr Roumi Ilieva, Chelsey Laird, and Camila Miranda were present at Congress 2016 in Calgary, AB. The CRIE team presented the panel "Experiences of internationalization: Staff in 'third space'" at the Conference of the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), to illustrate how the everyday experiences and practices of staff engaged in the internationalization of a university will enhance and enrich overall knowledge and understanding of internationalization of higher education.
