Elizabeth Rains
Elizabeth Rains has been a reporter for the Vancouver Sun and an editor of several consumer and trade magazines, including B.C. Pharmacist, B.C. Grocer, Northwest Prospector, Westworld, and Arts Access Magazine. She is the author of two non-fiction books, the latest of which is Demon in My Blood (Greystone Books). She has edited cookbooks, novels, memoirs, business books, short story collections, numerous business reports and countless magazine articles. Her career encompasses long stints as a graphic designer, magazine writer, advertising copywriter, corporate publication writer and CEO of Access Communications Inc., a typesetting and publishing company.
She was editorial director and publisher of Pacific Rim Magazine for 14 years. Prior to that, Elizabeth served as managing editor of The Capilano Review. She has twice been president of the Magazine Association of B.C. and speaks frequently at industry events. She currently freelances as an editor and publishing consultant through her company, Cove Media.
Elizabeth holds a master's degree in journalism from Carleton University, as well as certificates in graphic design and web publishing.
