Rachelle Louden (she/her), BA (Hons.), MA, is currently completing her PhD in criminology at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Along with her passion for sharing her knowledge about restorative justice, she also instructs specialized courses that emphasize cultural competency for future law enforcement professionals at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Rachelle created the necessary foundational research to establish the Chilliwack Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. The centre’s program adopts a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach. It integrates principles of restorative justice to provide holistic responses to violence against youth and children in the community.

In addition to her academic and instructional roles, Rachelle contributes her expertise to the Crime Prevention unit at the City of Burnaby, where she researches crime prevention strategies with a strong emphasis on restorative justice principles. Her recent work with the Crime Prevention unit includes researching culturally relevant diversion programs aimed at reducing youth gang involvement.
