Jody Hawley
Jody Hawley has a PhD in vocational rehabilitation and women's studies. She provided vocational rehabilitation services in a number of different capacities for 30 plus years. Her experience includes employment with government, not-for-profit and the insurance industry.
In 1990 she established her own company, which developed and delivered successful vocational rehabilitation programs for women with disabilities. In addition, she was responsible for the development of individualized vocational plans for individuals with complex disability needs on behalf of the government. For a decade, under contract with WorkSafeBC, Jody provided the vocational rehabilitation services for the Sensitive Claims unit, which involved the return to work following sexual assault on the job.
She has extensive teaching experience with courses about ethics, job development, and vocational rehabilitation case management at the graduate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling program at UBC. She has contributed to the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV program since its inception. Her research, publications and presentations include professional ethics, foundations of rehabilitation, professionalism, advocacy, vocational counselling and job development.
