Elizabeth Bunney
Elizabeth Bunney is a third-generation Cree Métis citizen with Polish/Irish ancestry residing in Treaty 6 Territory in amiskwaciwâskahikan (Beaver House, Edmonton). A proud First Nations descendant from The Pas, Manitoba, Elizabeth brings over 20 years of in-house and agency communications experience working in natural resources, engineering, utilities, financial services, and manufacturing.
Her work has included strategic internal and external communications planning, business development and relationship management, event production, issues management, media relations, and employee engagement. Elizabeth’s most recent experiences include supporting Indigenous peoples via international and national impact projects aimed at elevating Indigenous voices in the media.
Elizabeth attended the Bachelor of Communications and Public Relations program at MacEwan University. As past president of the International Association of Business Communicators (Edmonton), she is passionate about using her skills to help amplify the voices of Indigenous Peoples and engaging advocates for inclusion and belonging.
She is the recipient of six awards from the IABC, the most recent being a Gold Quill award of merit for media relations in 2024.
