Planning for Engagement
Effective civic engagement requires good planning to determine who should participate and how. In this course, you will explore how dialogue can be incorporated into planning so as to deepen understanding of issues and choices. Emphasis will be placed on designing inclusive planning processes that encourage participants to express goals freely, appraise facts carefully, generate ideas creatively, and assess options dispassionately. Such processes help people collaboratively develop appropriate action that builds community and serves diverse needs and interests with an eye towards justice and equity.
