In this course, you will learn to develop an effective business analysis plan to align with business goals and objectives. Learn how to engage stakeholders, align with corporate governance and incorporate performance metrics to optimize business planning. You'll also gain an understanding of the basics of management tools, such as stakeholder analysis, activity plans and communication plans, and get an introduction to the first step in developing a robust business analysis workplan.

What you will learn

After completing this course, you’ll be able to do the following:

  • Apply terms and concepts used within an effective analysis process to build a business analysis plan with individual tasks, activities and deliverables
  • Integrate stakeholder engagement and approaches that enable business change
  • Connect elements of organizational governance and information management systems into business planning and communication
  • Create a project plan aligning business needs in a structured framework for successful delivery of organizational projects that meet business goals and objectives
  • Assess project process through progress management and performance monitoring
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques to adapt and optimize current and future project plans

How you will learn and be evaluated

  • Prepare to spend 6–10 hours per week on coursework

You will be evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis on:

  • Individual or group projects and presentations
  • Participation and attendance

To graduate with the Business Analysis Certificate, successfully pass all nine courses.

A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK Guide v3). Available for purchase from online or local bookstores, or through the . We will expect you to have read the textbook, as this course will reference relevant chapters.
