Plain Language program honoured with international award
We were thrilled to be honoured last week by Plain Language Association International (PLAIN) for our Plain Language Certificate program.
Launched in 2016, the online program is the first university-based professional training program in the plain language field. It was selected by PLAIN for the inaugural Cheryl Stephens Innovation Award, which acknowledges achievements in the areas of technology, advocacy, research and professional development. The prize is named in honour of author and PLAIN co-founder Cheryl Stephens, a pioneer in the plain language movement.
The award jointly named ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Continuing Studies and instructor Katherine McManus, who helped design and develop the online program.
Julia Denholm, dean of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Learning, was flown to Oslo, Norway, to attend the annual PLAIN conference and accept the award on behalf of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Continuing Studies and Katherine McManus.
