As our Liberal Arts and 55+ Program gets set to celebrate its 45th anniversary this fall, we鈥檝e already reached another milestone. On July 24, the opening day for registration in the program鈥檚 Fall 2019 courses, we received a record 1,758 registrations in a single day. In fact, more than 75 per cent of registrations took place within the first hour. 

More than 900 students signed up for at least one of the 61 offerings available, with nearly 90 of those students joining the Liberal Arts and 55+ Program for the first time. 

While the majority of students now register online, a devoted number continue to visit our Vancouver registration desk in person. Registration officially opened at 10 a.m., but a line of early risers had begun forming hours earlier in an attempt to beat the rush. 

In total, 12 courses filled in one day鈥攚ith one course (China: Old and New, and the 鈥淔oreign Barbarian鈥�) filling in just seven minutes.
