Burnaby: On top of the world

As well as the modern facilities and amenities, many students comment on the great atmosphere of the Burnaby campus. There are lots of places to socialize, hang out and share a meal, as well as plenty of nooks to hide out in for some quiet study time. Outside, there is just as much variety from secret rooftops with amazing views to shady trees and open green spaces.

Burnaby Mountain

間眅埶AVs Burnaby campus on Burnaby Mountain is east of the City of Vancouver, with views of the Pacific ocean beyond. Surrounded by hiking and biking trails, the Burnaby campus includes more than 60 academic buildings and - a sustainable residential community that helps make the campus a great place to live as well as study.

Getting there

Getting there is easy. Four major bus routes (#135, #143, #144 and #145), plus the #N35 night bus, connect to SkyTrain stations, downtown and different parts of Metro Vancouver, and its easy to schedule classes around transit if needed. Although connecting between the Surrey and Burnaby campuses is only about 45 minutes by bus, many students plan their schedules ahead of time to include Surrey days or Burnaby days to minimize travel time (although some students find the bus a good opportunity to nap, study or relax). Many students cycle to campus, and if you dont fancy the climb up the mountain you can always put your bike on the bus.

間眅埶AV students qualify for the U-Pass that gives discounted access to bus, SeaBus and SkyTrain services within Metro Vancouver.

W.A.C. Bennett Library

With seven floors, Burnabys recently renovated library is the largest of the three campus libraries. Its a learning hub, providing study spaces, help with writing and other learning skills through the Student Learning Commons, research assistance, equipment loans, and technical support.

SLC is there to help you throughout your time as a student at 間眅埶AV. Their friendly teams provide you with everything you need to succeed academically. This includes improving your writing skills, helping with library services, and providing guidance, workshops and practical help on everything from doing better at exams and finding better study habits.

Pub nights

The Highland Pub is the location for regular pub nights on Wednesdays and Fridays, when you can enjoy cheap wings, unwind and socialize with other students. There are numerous TV screens and faculties often hold their own themed pub nights.

Hiking and biking

As youd expect from a mountaintop campus surrounded by parks and forests, Burnaby offers lots of recreation opportunities, especially along the many hiking and mountain biking trails that wind up, down and across Burnaby Mountain.

Eating

The campus boasts a 24/7 dining hall, including an eat-all-you-can buffet menu. There are also several cafes and Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Triple Os locations. Food trucks also make their way up the mountain on selected days, offering everything from Canadas unique poutine dish (fries and gravy) to Thai, Chinese, Greek and other options. . There are also microwaves available for students to use in the campus.
