Chris Bullock, MASc, P.Eng.

I am a professional bio-resource engineer that has spent my 30-year career in environmental consulting mostly based in the Kootenay region of BC. I operated my own consulting firm with up to 7 staff for 10 years before joining SNC-Lavalin 15 years ago in which I have recently given up my role as Operations Manager in the Cranbrook office. I have expertise in contaminated sites and waste management, but personal interest in urban development and active transportation. As I approach semi-retirement, I'm looking to increase my skills toward furthering community development and facilitate the massive transitions our communities need to make to mitigate and adapt to the climate emergency. While I'm a generalist with strong technical skills and a lifelong learner, I'm excited about the potential for this program to expand my perspectives, connections and tools to facilitate community change.

I have been an active member of the community with involvement with many community organizations associated with my passion for environmental sustainability and encouraging active participation in the natural world. I am an active member of the East Kootenay Climate Hub, Sustainable Cranbrook, Kimberley Edible Garden and Greenhouse group and past director of the Cranbrook Community Forest Society. I'm a CANSI ski instructor with the Kimberley Nordic Club and the president of the Kootenay Orienteering Club. I love hiking and exploring our beautiful part of the province, as well as mountain biking, trail running and paddleboarding.

Having started my family young, I'm a proud father of two grown up sons who are well into their careers and have now blessed me with a granddaughter.
