University of Alberta
The University of Alberta is a world-class public education institution that addresses grand challenges faced locally, nationally and internationally. The foundational commitment to inspire the human spirit through outstanding achievements in learning, discovery and citizenship for an uplifting of the whole people was reaffirmed by the universitys most recent strategic plan, For the Public Good, where Engage is one of the five main goals. This service-focused ethos is at the heart of all the University of Alberta aims to do and is captured most succinctly in our mission statement:
Within a vibrant and supportive learning environment, the University of Alberta discovers, disseminates, and applies new knowledge for the benefit of society through teaching and learning, research and creative activity, community involvement, and partnerships. The University of Alberta gives a national and international voice to innovation in our province, taking a lead role in placing Canada at the global forefront.
