Whether you investigate the formation of economic mineral deposits, the impacts of drought on the environment, or the sources of catastrophic earthquakes, you will use a strong and broad science foundation. Our multidisciplinary programs, emphasizing Environmental Geoscience and Geology, will give you the knowledge and professional skills to tackle any number of critically important issues.
Discover what sets Earth Sciences apart
- Program setup for Professional registration (P.Geo) with Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia
- Large demand for professional geoscientists in industry (resources and environment) and government
- Learn technical, analytical and field skills to address a broad range of challenges to society
Gain experience working in the field
In field schools EASC 206, 306, and 308 we practiced core logging, mapping techniques and learning about how various rock groups and formations in British Columbia came into existence. These classes gave me the liberty of seeing what it is like working in the field as well as taking what we learned in class and applying it to real-world situations.
