Description, purpose and use of records

Correspondence, licence of occupation, rental agreements, leases, insurance documents, legal opinions and statements, parking space log, security card log, notes and working papers.

These records are used to administer the occupancy of Discovery Park offices and worksites by tenants. Discovery Park tenants fall into four categories: 1) 間眅埶AV 'spin-off' companies; 2) other start-up companies or organizations that have a special reason for locating in proximity to 間眅埶AV; 3) 間眅埶AV 'spin-off' companies which require short term office space in order to facilitate project collaboration with researchers at 間眅埶AV; and, 4) organizations or other representatives of organizations which provide business development or technology transfer services. 間眅埶AV owns the land on which Discovery Park is located.

Retention and filing guidelines

Files are considered S/O (superseded/obsolete) when a tenancy ends and all outstanding obligations of the tenant to the landlord (間眅埶AV) have been discharged (i.e. the tenant is not in default and is not over holding, that is, continuing to occupy space beyond a lease or rental agreement).
