Appointments

Appointment priority is in accordance with the TSSU Collective Agreement and the Sessional Instructor Seniority List provided by the University. Evaluation of qualifications is at the Chair’s discretion and appointments are subject to sufficient enrollment and final budgetary authorization.

Please note that all Sessional Instructor positions are in the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU).

 

Compensation

Sessional Instructors are compensated per contact hour (CH), plus 1.25 CH. The contact hours offered to an SI are the same as the course’s credit hours, which is found following the course number and including the 1.25 CH.

Using the May 1, 2023 salary scale, compensation per CH is $1,782, therefore for 4.25 CH the compensation is $7,574.  Further information, including the Collective Agreement, may be found here /human-resources/tssu.html.
